Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Patrick Hartwig comes from a long line of steelworkers and pipefitters. He attended Youngstown State University where he earned a degree in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy. Patrick worked his way through college waiting tables at the local neighborhood tavern and working between classes at the newsstand selling magazines, newspapers and lottery tickets.
Patrick came to Boston to attend Northeastern Law School. While in school, Patrick worked on Social Security disability cases at the Greater Boston Legal Services Health and Disability Unit, and developed an interest in advocating for the disabled. After graduation, Patrick worked as a real estate attorney, drafting purchase and sales contracts and conducting dozens of real estate closings each month all over eastern Massachusetts, before ultimately returning to his passion: working on behalf of the sick and disabled, and helping them to obtain the benefits they deserve.
