I’m frustrated! It seems like my application for SSDI is taking forever! Is there anywhere I can go to check on the status of my New Hampshire SSDI application?

Applying for SSDI in New Hampshire can be a difficult and lengthy process, so we can certainly understand your frustration. First, you go through the process of putting together your application and gathering all evidence to support your claim. Then, you eagerly hand over your application filled with personal details in hopes that you will soon receive the money you need to support you and your family while you’re unable to work. When this process takes months, it can be difficult, and you want to know where you can turn to check on the status of your New Hampshire SSDI application.

Knowing how the application process works can help. First, your application goes to the local office where it is processed. After about a month, all of your information will be on file with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and you can check on the status of your claim in two ways:

  • The SSA website. This is the most convenient—and fastest—way to check on your application’s status. Go to the SSA website and spend a few moments locating your particular file.
  • Call the SSA. The SSA is available to answer your questions by phone. Call and speak with a representative for details about your application status.

Because there is not a lot that can be done with your application before the first month, it is a good idea to wait to call or look online until at least one month has passed since you filed your claim. Remember, you’re not alone in your frustration. Applications for SSDI in New Hampshire take a long time to process. If you need more help, or have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office by calling 888-904-6847.
