Government Shutdown Affects Social Security Offices

Posted on Jan 22, 2018

us capitol buildingDuring a government shutdown it is more difficult to reach the Social Security offices in the field. They are still open but short staffed. The hearing offices (Office of Disability Adjudication and Review) have just increased their skeleton staffs so are able to begin scheduling hearings before Administrative Law Judges again, and process the decisions on cases already heard.

At Keefe Disability Law we are keeping tabs on the processing of the claims of all our clients, so they will not be adversely affected by this shutdown. Call us at 800-776-2929 if you need information on your claim, or if you cannot work and need help starting a disability claim with Social Security. We are not short-handed and are working full force!
