As an attorney with Keefe Disability Law, Lizabeth is dedicated to assisting clients in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island as they pursue claims for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. She takes an individualized approach with each of her clients, helping develop the strongest possible case to present to Social Security. Her soft-spoken demeanor belies her tenacity and dedication to winning for her clients.
Lizabeth grew up in Bristol, Rhode Island and graduated from Tiverton High School. She attended Brown University, where she earned a degree in History, Magna Cum Laude. Her senior honors thesis focused on the 1972 Senate race between John Chafee and Claiborne Pell comparing and contrasting the candidates' positions on the Vietnam War.
Lizabeth earned her law degree from Northeastern University in Boston, where she served as a Head Teaching Assistant for the first year legal writing program. While in law school, she also completed internships at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Rhode Island and the Homicide Unit of the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
After law school, Lizabeth worked as a regional law clerk for the Massachusetts District Courts.
Lizabeth is married to Patrick Hartwig, who also works at Keefe Disability. The pair met in law school. When she is not at work, Lizabeth enjoys knitting, spinning yarn, and photography.
